Zhong Lun Assists Foreign Banks in Providing Debut USD Syndicated Loan to CZB Financial Leasing
Recently, a syndicate jointly led and arranged by Bank of East Asia and other banks successfully granted a USD syndicated loan in an initial amount of USD 80 million with a greenshoe option to CZB Financial Leasing. This syndicated loan marks the debut USD syndicated loan to CZB Financial Leasing and will primarily be used to support the borrower’s offshore ship leasing business and the development of marine economy.
Bank of East Asia has extensive experience in syndicated financing for the financial leasing industry and serving the shipping industry, and this USD syndicated loan provides strong financial support to the ship leasing business of CZB Financial Leasing, which would take the USD syndicated loan as an opportunity to further expand its access to USD financing and thereby effectively optimize its USD financing arrangement.
Zhong Lun acted as the PRC counsel for the syndicate and provided comprehensive legal services for this financing project, including offering legal advice, drafting and negotiating finance documents, assisting in the first drawdown of the loan and issuing legal opinions. The team was led by partner Shirley Lu and non-equity partner Sophia Chen and also included June Li.
